The men display utmost concentration while playing, nothing is being said. Except perhaps at the outset of the game.
Four men are playing at one time, the others are watching, waiting for their turn. Most days one to three men come in after work for a beer, for a chat or to read the newspaper. Sometimes one comes in to find no one is sitting at the regular’s table, turning around and leaving right away. The young people of the village meet Friday nights. For that occasion another round table is added to make space.
What are they discussing? Are the topics the same as they are at the older guys table? What about the women? Is this only for the male population?
The village orchestra and choir used to meet here once a week after rehearsal.
They no longer come in on a regular basis as they lost their conductor.
