Pink and Likable: How People Describe the Romansh Language

This video shows the results of an inquiry I made at the end of a Romansh-course I taught. I asked the participants to describe the language they just learned using an adjective. Their answers are projected against a video taken this spring in the Upper Engadine Valley. It shows the meager, cold and windy Alpine landscape in which the language is spoken, and which stands in contrast to the warm and soft descriptions of the language's sound.
