Chico Dub is a curator and artistic director working in the fields of experimental music and sound art living in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. He is the curator and general director of international advanced music festival Novas Frequências, which takes place in Rio since 2011, and a member of the advisory board of SIM (São Paulo International Music Week).
Former music curator of Centro Cultural São Paulo and project manager of the swiss arts council Pro Helvetia in the context of South America, he has curated for dozens of festivals, residencies and art shows such as Bienal De São Paulo (music program, 2021), In/Out Festival (digital, 2020-2021), OneBeat Residency (United States, 2020-2021), Labverde - Artistic Immersion in the Amazon (Manaus, 2020), Virada Cultural (São Paulo, 2020), JHSPlay (Japan House, 2021), Canção Enigmática: relations between art and sound in the MAM Rio collections (Rio de Janeiro's Museum of Modern Art, 2019-2020); Lado B: the vinyl record in contemporary Brazilian art (Sesc Belenzinho, São Paulo, 2019), Videoex (Zurich, 2019), ArtSonica Artistic Residence (Rio, 2019), Escuchar (Sonidos Visuales) (Buenos Aires, 2018), Red Bull Music Academy São Paulo (2017), Gambiarra Sonora (Festspielhaus Hellerau, Dresden, 2016), Red Bull Music Pulso (São Paulo, 2016), MAR - Museu de Arte do Rio de Janeiro (ciclo Margem, 2016), HOBRA - Residência Artística Holanda Brasil (Rio, 2016), World Stages Residency (Theatre Royal Stratford East, London, 2015), Cine-Seizure (Arnolfini - Center for Contemporary Arts, Bristol, 2014) and Sónar São Paulo (2012).
