Musician, Improviser, Performer

Isabelle Meraner is an Italian musician and improviser based in Basel, Switzerland. She graduated her Bachelorˋs in classical flute at the music school of Lucerne in the class of Pirmin Grehl. Currently, she is doing a Master in Contemporary Music at the Sonic Space Basel. During her studies she has worked with musicians, artists and improvisers such as Magda Mayas, Lucas Niggli, Julie Beauvais, Julian Sartorius, Susanne Peters and Eric Lamb. She is active in various ensembles and collectives, such as the Kulturbrauerei Luzern, which dedicates itself to organizing concerts and events of experimental music. For Isabelle, being a musician has a high socio-political relevance. It is her concern to foster anti-hierarchical, feminist and ecological structures with her music-making.
