Although Batwa culture seems to be in decline, some Batwa still practice ancient traditions and customs, which are part of their rich culture

They consciously involve women and children to perpetuate the oral tradition for the next generations, especially the young. Some of their songs deal with hunting, childbirth, marriage, seduction and their spiritual beliefs.

In recent times, it seems that the younger generations have changed their mindset and preference. The transformation of their cultural expression seems to be shifting from the indigenous to a more contemporary expression, as they adapt to their current environment and seek a sense of belonging. Young artists are moving towards a pop sound, reggae and other popular genres with which they interact, and with the rise of communication technologies. This evolution could lead to a whole new form of creativity and sound for the Batwa, but it's still important to recognize and preserve the status quo to some extent for the future.
