Capturing the sound of Ema Keithel or Ema Market, Asia’s largest women’s market

The market is run solely by women and has a workplace for more than 5000 vendors. The area around this market is called Kwairamband Keithel and comprises three buildings, namely Leimarel Shidabi Ema Keithel, Emoinu Ema Keithel and Phouoibee Ema Keithel. The majority of the products in the market are mostly related to the culture and tradition of Manipur, such as traditional clothes, a wide collection of shawls from different tribes of Manipur, vegetables, fish and much more.
