Usually there are a number of perceptions of physical changes of the biome on the part of actual or potential land-users

Usually, too, there is conflict over the use of land - whether it be between farmers and conservationists, pastoralists and peasants, small farmers and the state, developers and concerned landholders. (Piers, Harold, 1987,p.4)

Thanks to the various landforms and elevations, there are different land use patterns in Nujiang Prefecture. Moreover, massive agricultural policies or other relevant policies such as forestry, labor or poverty alleviation, etc. have had an effect on land use conditions here.

In Nujiang, we encountered slash-and-burn cultivation, terrace plantations as well as new planting methods under the Policy of Returning Cultivated Land to Forest or the "Planting rice in the mountains" technical plan.

We also visited land that was once cornfields and is now solar power plants or capital-intensive citrus plantations. We discussed these different land-use models with the locals to learn about their perspectives, we also have read the Local Chronicle edited by the authority to learn about the history of land using and agriculture in this area, to learn about the history of land use and agriculture in the area, to help us better understand the circumstances facing local "land managers".

Conversations on this subject are ongoing. We also plan to express our feelings about the massive transformations through performances.
