Farah, Fatimah and Ibtissam are recording the water pump at Joudour Sahara farm in M'Hamid

Designed by Moroccan architect Aziza Chaouni, this multi-use water reservoir tank can capture the rain water and store it. Recently completed, the reservoir provides water for the pump and distributes it onto the rows of vegetables and to each of the endemic trees. These trees include date palm and a hardy tree, the tamarix which is known to stop desertification by self creating mounds of dirt among its roots in the desert to prevent sand from encroaching.

Habib, the head farmer, prepares the water pump so that he can distribute water from their on-site water tank to the farmland. The pump is noisy and Habib has to climb the storage area to fill it and get started.
