This informal dance practice session showcases Leisem Jagoi, a traditional dance portraying the creation of the universe

For generations, our forefathers have performed this dance during the Chakpa Lai Haraoba and in Phayeng’s death ritual ceremonies.

Today, this unique dance form is rarely witnessed. Guiding the younger generation is Oja Angom Ningthou of Phayeng, who, informally, imparts the legacy. Oja Angom Ningthou holds the distinction of being one of the few Pena Players in Phayeng Village today.
